This unique handwoven grain sack runner was crafted by the Yörük people, one of the last remaining semi-nomadic communities in Turkey, who traditionally live in the highlands of the Taurus Mountains. Known for their deep-rooted weaving culture, the Yörüks are celebrated for their skillful use of world-renowned Turkish cotton, especially the high-quality cotton grown in the fertile lands of Çukurova.

Each piece is woven on traditional hand looms and reflects the timeless art of Anatolian textile weaving. These vintage grain sacks once served a practical role in nomadic life, used in tents for storing grain or as part of everyday life. Today, they are prized for their beauty and cultural significance—featuring traditional Anatolian motifs, hand-embroidered with natural wool threads.

We are now fortunate to repurpose these authentic weavings into decorative runners, perfect for adding texture and story to your home. Their narrow size makes them ideal for use in hallways, kitchens, bedroom bedsides, or layered on tables and benches.

Whether you're creating a bohemian interior, curating a global-inspired space, or seeking meaningful sustainable home décor, these Turkish nomadic textiles offer character, history, and handwoven elegance.
